A Guide to Discovering Your Squarespace Version

Hey there! Are you currently perplexed about the version of Squarespace that powers your website? Don’t worry, the answer is actually easy to find! So, take a moment, settle in, and join us on this informative journey.

Now let’s get started.

Step One: Log in to your Squarespace account

Step Two: Click In To Your Website

Clicking to edit a website.

Step Three: When You Click To Edit Your Website, Which Edit Button Do You See?

If the edit button allows you to edit the navigation menu and the page content, then you have Squarespace 7.1. If you have to edit the navigation menu separately from the page content, then you have Squarespace 7.0.

View the images below to tell the difference.

In the first image, you will see a Squarespace 7.1 website (our website)! The edit button appears at the very top of your screen, on top of a grey-white bar. Once you click that button, you will be able to go in and edit your navigation menu, your footer, and the page that you are on all at once.

In the second image, you will see a Squarespace 7.0 website. Here you will only be able to see an edit button once you hover over either the navigation menu or the page content. In this case, you will not be able to edit both at once — you will have to decide on whether you want to edit the navigation menu or the page content. Similarly, the Squarespace 7.0 footer also has its own edit button.
